North Carolina Children's Book Award Nominees
Each year educators across the state of North Carolina recommend children's books to be considered for the North Carolina Children's Book Award. In the spring, students who have read all of the books can vote for their favorite. After all the votes are counted, the winner is announced. Last year's winner was Be Quiet! by Ryan T. Higgins. This happened to be one of the favorites at Southwest as well. There are twelve new nominees this year and we have copies of each of them in the library. And the nominees are . . .

You can also use the categories menu down the left side of the site. These categories allow you to search from "Librarian Picks," "Award Winners," and "Genre." Your Next Read is another site that recommends new books based on the old books you have read. Type in the name of a book that you have read or an author whose books you enjoy and Your Next Read will give you other people's book recommendations.
