And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow, Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so? "It came without ribbons! It came without tags! "It came without packages, boxes, or bags!" And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. "Maybe Christmas . . . perhaps . . . means a little bit more!" ~ Dr. Seuss |
Well, I guess Seuss saved the best for last. He and the Grinch got together to share one more of their holiday favorites with us today. I think this has to be my favorite as well. I never missed The Grinch by Dr. Seuss when it came on tv each year when I was growing up. I still love watching it today. I'm not surprised it was one of Seuss' favorites since he got his name from the author. This will be our last day with Seuss. He's headed back to the North Pole to hang out with Santa. I sure hope he shared great things about all the kiddos here at Southwest. Until next year, Seuss! Merry Christmas!

It's not quite the night before Christmas yet, but it appears to be one of Seuss' favorite books for the holiday season. Written by Clement C. Moore, The Night Before Christmas has always been one of my favorites as well. I remember learning every word of it when I was in the fifth grade many, many years ago.
Our library elf, Seuss, is back this morning with another of his favorite Christmas books. It looks like his choice today, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, is a student favorite as well. Students always go looking for this one at this time of year. I have teachers come to the library looking for it, too! Great choice, Seuss! I wonder what tomorrow's book will be!
"When Christmas arrives, so lovely and white, Bear's friends awake to a glorious sight. Presents and goodies are piled up tall. "I stayed up," says Bear, "just to share with you all." ~ Karma Wilson |
About me . . .Formerly a classroom teacher. Currently a School Library Media Coordinator. I loved being in the classroom, but now that I am in the library I can't imagine doing anything else! The library is my favorite place to be. From my rocking chair to my ABC rug to the smiling student faces checking out books, the library just can't be beat! Archives
