Rock Paper Scissors
Happy Friday, Lion Cubs! Welcome back for another edition of Long Distance Library. A couple of our recent lessons have focused on different authors and the books they've written. We are going to continue that theme today by celebrating Drew Daywalt. If I told you he wrote the crayon books most of you would know exactly which books I was talking about. The Day the Crayons Quit is one of my favorites, too. So, click here for my daily video and then let's get started with some amazing Drew Daywalt books! |
We are going to start today with Drew Daywalt reading aloud one of his latest books. The book is called The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors. The book tells the story of Rock, Paper, and Scissors and how they are looking for worthy competitors to battle. Everyone the come up against just isn't up to the task. That is until they meet each other. Maybe this is how the game of rock paper scissors got started? Maybe? Click here to go to Drew's website to see him read aloud his book The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors. |
Now for the crayon books! You knew I was going to include those right? Well, both crayon books can be found on Storytime with Ryan and Craig. You have to start with The Day the Crayons Quit, which was the first crayon book published, and then move on to The Day the Crayons Came Home. I know you guys love both of these books but I think Ryan and Craig are going to make you enjoy them even more. You can click here to go to Ryan and Craig's read aloud page or you can click the individual links below to go straight to the books. |
One more Drew Daywalt book for us today. This is a book called Sleepy, the Goodnight Buddy. In this book, a little boy named Roderick hates going to bed each night. His parents, who are a little fed up with him, get him a stuffed animal to help him get to sleep. Unfortunately, things don't turn out the way they planned. Click here to go back to Drew Daywalt's website. When you get to the website, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find Drew reading aloud his book Sleepy, the Goodnight Buddy. |
